MOVING TO TOPENG

I don't really like moving to Topeng. It feels a lot more hotter and its more far away from the Administrator Building. At least it is only one week we are going to stay here..

                                              

My PYP Exhibition Reflection

My PYP Exhibition  

 First Day:  On the first day, I felt really nervous. This was normal for me, I’m sometimes nervous for no reason. Also because this was the first time that I ever did an exhibition. I was very tense when I had to present in front of so many people.

      I was also feeling tense when presenting at the booth, I don’t know how, I don’t know why. I was afraid I would give the visitors the wrong info. I was also afraid because younger children came. What if I messed up?, I would be humiliated..

      Many people went to my booth, but sometimes my group members would run away somewhere to other booths. I’ll make sure they don’t do that tomorrow. One of the grade 1 students asked me a question that I thought was very funny. He said, “Mataram is Indonesia right?”.

      Today, there were good parts and bad parts. The good part was, nobody asked us questions about our presentation. The bad part was that we were so bored that we had to wait for visitors to come.  In our presentation, I was a risk-taker because I was brave enough to speak in front of so many people!

    I also had to play piano in the opening and at lunch time, while I played my slideshow about Sumbawa. I compiled some of my photos in Sumbawa and made it into one movie. I was also a risk-taker when I had to do that. I hope we can do better tomorrow…

 

   Second Day:  Today, I have accomplished my task. I made sure than none of my group members would run away again like yesterday. Today, I was also relieved because it was the last day of the exhibition. Phew.. Today grade 4-7 went to our exhibition.

   We had a terrible day today. We had to do our presentation 3 times! That was scary.. Mr. Rick came to our 2^nd presentation and asked us two questions. We were able to answer them. I was a risk-taker and knowledgeable because I could answer the questions that we got.

   My parents didn’t come today but they came yesterday. So many people came to our booth today, more than yesterday! They asked lots of more questions than the visitors that came yesterday.

    Today, Ms. Indah came, she is the owner of the school. We played Leo’s game with her and we also played Zaky’s quiz. We made a quiz that was based on the TV show called” Are you smarter than a 5^th grader?” Min soo and Johnny won for us! Against two adults, the other adult was Ms. Elizabeth.

    We really LIKED playing that came and the good thing was that we won! The other good thing is that Ms. Indah is going to give us a box of J. Co donuts each. The exhibition was a real experience for me and I hope we can do the exhibition again. BRING IT ON TEACHERS!

My English Reflection Journal

On wednesday, 11th of February 2009, we got a new software, its called "Spore". We got to make our own creature with this software. Yesterday, I borrowed a new book, its called "Dragon Moon". The book is 300 pages long! That would be a challenge for me.. Reading all those pages in one week. We also learnt about metaphors. Metaphors are quiet hard. We made our own metaphors and posted them in our blog. We are now using Spellingcity.com. Mrs. T posted our spelling words there. We can go to spelling city and learn our spelling words from there now!

My Talent

Hello, my name is Amatta. I am 10 years old. I live in Jakarta. For short, I am known as a civilian. 

I live in Jakarta, the capital city of Indonesia. There are usually big gardens in every house. Jakarta adores music. There are many music theaters to play concerts and recitals. That is why I adore this city, because this city adores music as much as I do.

Many people in Jakarta like music. Some play the Flute, the Piano or the Violin. I am one of those people. I can play the Piano and the Violin. Some of the music theaters are Erasmus Huisse, Goethe Haus, Gedung Kesenian Jakarta, Balai Kartini and Taman Ismail Mazurki. 

I started playing the Piano when I was 3 and my teacher was Ms. Arga. At first, I thought it would be hard, but after a while, I got used to it. When I was 3 I only learnt about the notes. The competition I recently joined is the "Chopin International Piano Competition" in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I made it to the Finals but didn't win. My favorite composer is Frederic Chopin.

I started playing the Violin since I was 5. My teacher was Mr. Atis. I learnt at Yayasan Musik Jakarta music school. It was really fun learning the Violin. I joined the OSNI orchestra 6 Months later. OSNI is the abbreviation of Orkes Simfoni Nasional Indonesia. I made many new friends. The competition I recently joined is the "Music Fiesta" in Binus School Simprug. I won 1st Prize. 

I really enjoy learning Music!

My Idol

My Idol is Justin Timberlake. Everyone admires him and so do I. He is very famous , everybody in the world knows him. He hosts some tv shows but he is a singer. He is my idol!

The Famous Five On A Treasure Island!!

The author of this book is Enid Blyton. The story is about 4 children and a dog that explores a ship wreck. The members of the famous five are Anne, Julian, Georgina, Dick and Timothy the dog. Anne, Julian, and Dick are in on family, they think that Georgina is ind of weird, they call her George. George does not like being a girl, she wants to be a boy. George is the one who owns the the island, well she will be... Her great-great- grandfather is the one who owned the ship wreck. The ship used to be underwater but because of a storm, the ship went up to the seashore.
